What does a Healthcare Assistant do?

  • Attends to patients’ needs in their activities of daily living and performs basic patient care procedures under the supervision of trained nurses.

  1. Establish rapport and maintain relationships with clients
  2. Assist clients with common health conditions

  7. Transfer clients with or without mobility equipment to prevent falls

  12. Blood glucose monitoring
  13. Stoma Care (cleaning and changing of stoma bag)
  14. Collection of specimen [stool specimen, urine specimen [for Full Examination Microscopy Examination (FEME) and culture and sensitivity (C&S)]
